I went to Polesden Lacy over the Bank Holiday weekend. This National Trust property was the home of Socialite Dame Margaret Greville. From this house she entertained royalty, politicians and many celebrities of their day.
Although like all other properties the house itself was closed you can walk around the gardens and grounds which are very big and beautifully kept. There is a rose in the formal rose garden named after Margaret Greville, it’s a pink rose with an orange centre. There are stone griffins guarding the entrance to this garden which has a lovely sundial in it. The view from the south lawn is lovely and you can see for miles.
Because of lockdown restrictions it made a lovely change to walk through the grounds rather than being a few yards from your home.
