Goodwood Revival 2019
Another great year at the Goodwood Revival. The Barry Sheen Memorial motorbike race is very popular as is the St Mary’s Trophy saloon car race. Hundreds of rare and priceless cars driven by champion drivers past and present.
The fashion period is 40s to 60s and this year the 60s took pride of place with mini skirts, mini cars and the Beatles and a mock-up of Abbey Road studios.
The ladies in their frocks and furs and the men in tweeds or armed services uniforms of the past create a stylish atmosphere.
I saw an Aston Martin Valkyrie on display. When it hits the streets at the end of 2019 it will be the best performing car in the world. All 150 of them are already sold with price tags of £2 million to £3 million.
The Duke of Richmond addressed the crowd with his warmest wishes to Sir Stirling Moss on his 90th Birthday and following the address the Duke drove Sir Stirling’s wife Lady Susie Moss around the track in an Aston Martin DBR1. What a day, it never fails to please!
My next holiday trip will be to Australia from 13 October
back in the shop on 15 November.
