Goodwood Revival 2018

This year saw Goodwood Revival celebrate its 20th Anniversary. The fashion theatre hosted a vintage catwalk show from the 1940s, 50s and 60s with vintage hair and make-up.

The show was an all singing and dancing event and told the story of a jet setting racing driver, travelling around the world from the Winter Olympics in St Moritz to the Casino in Monte Carlo. From a photographer’s point of view it was right up my street as I love the 1940s fashions. Vintage clothes should become compulsory.

At Goodwood Revival you can’t feel sad, it’s like being on a movie set where everyone is happy, dancing to the big band sounds right through to 1960s rock and roll and jazz.  It’s the best day ever, not forgetting the vintage cars and their drivers.

The races I enjoy each year are the St Mary’s Trophy and the Goodwood Trophy. It’s great to see cars such as Alfa Romeo’s 308C 1938 and Maserati 4CM 1935 still racing with drivers like Jackie Oliver, who I used to watch racing in the 1960s.
