Goodwood House

Goodwood House is a country house and estate covering 4.9 hectares in West Sussex and is the seat of the Duke and Duchess of Richmond. The house was built in about 1600 and is a Grade I Listed building.

Goodwood Racecourse has beautiful views of the Sussex Downs to the north and Chichester and the Isle of Wight to the south. Goodwood also has a motor circuit which is the only circuit in the world to remain entirely in its original form after having the stands lovingly restored. When I was younger I saw Stirling Moss, Jackie Stewart and Bruce McLaren race at Goodwood and I have signed photos of them.

I have been to the Goodwood Revival over many years it is one off the world’s greatest historic motor race meetings staged entirely in the 40s, 50s and 60s with the cars, clothes and fashion. Everyone dresses up to reflect those times and the whole day is like a film set, you are transported back in time.

I stayed at the Goodwood Hotel. It is a relaxing escape. The restaurant was a good food experience
