Dining Experience

The Olympic Games are over. Well how spectacular was that?

It made Britain Great again. It was magical.

Now if you are thinking of a break, how about the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, 9 August to 2 September.

If you get there and are into food, I would recommend the Castle Terrace. This restaurant is run by Dominic Jack, a Michelin starred chef. He is Edinburgh born and his food is French Scottish. This is a great dining experience.

Dominic worked in Paris at l’Arpège and Les ELysées. I had the Chef’s Land and Sea Surprise Tasting Menu which had 10 courses, all of them brilliant. Two of my favourite tastes:

Thin slivers of avocado made into ravioli, stuffed with crab meat and topped with crunchy crumbs.

The plate was decorated with strips of mayonnaise and an olive/anchovy paste.

Filet mignon of Perthshire pork served with braised fennel, smoked aubergine puree and a basil and olive jus.
