Avebury

Avebury Stone Circle is larger and older than Stonehenge with the earliest stone structures apparently dating back to around 2850 BCE. There are three circles which are easy to walk to and get close to. There was evidence of human activity on the site during the early Middle Ages. The road through the village runs through the middle of them, but it is still well worth a visit.
